From Glitter to Growth: Meet Jar, the Digital Mindful Jar for Emotional Awareness

When Dani was little, we created something simple yet powerful: the Mindful Jar. Some of you may remember the video we shared—swirling glitter in a jar, settling slowly as we breathed and watched. It was a calming ritual that helped us all slow down and reset.

That was years ago. Chances are, if you made a Mindful Jar with us back then, your little one is now a teenager. Life is busier. Emotions run high. And time? It feels like there’s never enough of it.

That’s why we’re so excited to introduce Jar—a digital version of the Mindful Jar, thoughtfully updated for the present moment.

With Jar, you choose how long the "settling" lasts: 30, 60, or 90 seconds. We recommend 90. Science tells us that it takes about 90 seconds for an emotion to pass through the body if we don’t feed it. That makes the 90-second option not just practical, but purposeful.

Whether it’s after a tough conversation, before starting homework, or simply during a moment of overwhelm, Jar becomes a visual pause—a gentle tool to help teens (and the rest of us) recognize what we’re feeling, without reacting too quickly.

It’s about responding, not reacting. about awareness, not avoidance. And about giving ourselves the space to feel, settle, and move forward with more clarity.
